The average cost of epoxy floors can help you decide the direction you want to take.  The Metallic Foxx epoxy jobs start around $2,000.  However, give us a call to go over details of your project.  Pricing depends a lot on the condition of the concrete, as prepping the flooring is a large part of the project.

Plan on 3 to 5 days for the entire project at a minimum.  Project time will depend largely on the amount of prepping the concrete floor needs and the square footage of the project area.  

• Epoxy floors are resistant to a large number of chemicals such as solvents and acids;
• The floors are decorative. Epoxy floors are available in many different colors and designs. It is possible to create a concrete look or to sprinkle the floor with flakes;
• Because of the fast application there is only a minimal work interruption;
• Epoxy floors are very easy to maintain. After all, the floors are seamless and liquid-tight and therefore easy to clean, benefiting hygiene;
• Epoxy floors combine well with underfloor heating. Very sustainable. In combination with underfloor heating you save energy and you no longer have radiators in sight, saving space. The floor has no seams or edges, it completely blends into the space.
• Robust. This makes epoxy floors suitable for heavy use and mechanical loads, such as forklift traffic in warehouses, workshops and production areas.

1. Prepare the surface (this may entail sanding, diamond-grinding and/or chemical cleaning).
2. Sweeping and cleaning the floor with industrial vacuum that picks p even small dust particials.
3. Prime the floor with an epoxy primer.
4. Fill all cracks, holes and imperfections in the floor with epoxy grout.
5. Application of frst coat of epoxy paint.
6. Apply 2nd coat of epoxy paint.  At this stage decorative epoxy paint, such as flakes, are applied.
7. Apply a specialized epoxy topcoat for longlasting product and durability.

One of the best cleaning solutions for an epoxy floor coating is diluted ammonia. Add 2 to 3 ounces of ammonia to a gallon of hot water and apply with a microfiber mop. Avoid using cleaning products with vinegar and citric acid. Citrus cleaners or vinegar can slowly degloss the epoxy finish.

Typically, epoxy flooring lasts 2 to 3 years in heavy traffic. Commercial properties—like garages, restaurants, or factory spaces—with lots of daily foot traffic can expect this experience. However, with proper care and maintenance, your epoxy flooring may last much longer.

1. For minor spills or vehicle drippings, simply wipe them up with a paper towel or other soft cloth. 
2. Routine maintenance cleaning is best achieved with either a soft bristle broom or a blue commercial dust mop (available at any home improvement store). 
3. For heavy cleaning of a soiled epoxy floor, sweep away any loose debris and then mop floor with a hard foam mop, hot water and clear ammonia. Four to five ounces of ammonia per gallon of water is all that is needed to adequately remove soiling.
